VH1 revised, re-released and re-aired “Behind The Music’ documentary with Biggie, after it was first released in 2001. They enlighten us with new interviews, evidence and commentary, while sharing his rise to the top before his fall at 24.
If you’re a fan, it’s definitely a great watch. If you’re not, it’s still a great watch.
Today, May 10th, marked the launch of ellesse Heritage’s ‘City Portraits Photo Challenge’ — challenging us all to take a photo a day inspired or influenced by the set ‘Theme’ for each day (listed above). The themes can be interpreted as literally or laterally as you like, which is a great chance to get creative and get shooting. You can share your results with the global community taking part by uploading and using the hashtag #CityPortraits and tag @ellesseheritage on Instagram and/or Twitter.
‘City Portraits’ was recently launched, a series of short films curated by Konstantinos Menelaou that follows the daily grind of three active professionals from three culturally leading cities; Berlin, London and New York. ellesse Heritage are giving you the chance to share your city with the world.
The final result will be a collection of varied portraits and unique insight into the daily lives of people from cities across the globe. I’m definitely excited about this project, it’ll be interesting to see what people get up to on a daily, worldwide.
A few weeks ago, the good people over at Destroy Culture launched their new collection of garms — W.I.A in Barcelona. Fresh, next-gen, hyperbounce, rainbow glow goodies designed by DC’s very own Shaun Bass and styled by Alexis Knox. Had to share the video for many reasons. One being, it’s pretty… Pretty fucking nice.

Over the years, Hip Hop has racked up epic mileage traveling from its birthplace of Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, marking its territory worldwide… Much like a cross-breed with a bad spell of Cystitis. Parallel to that, so has Jazz — shouts to New Orleans. Both their influences can be traced back to most, if not all, corners of the globe. In this case, a two day drive West to inland Pomona, California.
On the oh-so mellow Sunday I first caught glimpse of the ‘Loose Leaves’ artwork… It was thereafter impossible to not notice his movement; committing verbal assassination in the open-air, freestyle battling, machine-gunning verses at an absurd challenger who would learn all too soon that whenever he opens his mouth, it marks the beginning of the end.
In my mind, if I were the challenger, I’d have shook my head, said nothing and just stared, attempting to look my grimmest and keep faith. In reality, I’d have fled the scene, tail between legs. Safe to say, I’d think twice before I challenged Thrett.
Read up and get acquainted with man like Phantom — straight no chaser. Eat up. Ya filthy animals.
Let’s get right to it. What’s in the name? What makes you a thrett?
I am Phantom Thrett. My approach to things is in the name, my personality… It’s who I am. Being a Jack of all trades makes me a thrett.

Just as we start scheming up ways of coaxing the Spring sun with promises of strawberry milkshakes and watermelon sundaes, the guys over at Tucker Blair pull a fast one on us, introducing their tropical collection. (Not that my inbox doesn’t welcome warm and cozy surprises. Big ups, Zach!)
Influenced by the ocean, the TWOTHIRDS brand’s SS12 range sits right in tune with my general style philosophy — it doesn’t need to be ostentatious to be a knockout piece. Their painfully simple and eco-conscious collection doesn’t pretend to be anything but a celebration of oceanic life and how something feels and functions, which in turn is translated into quality clothing.
a) Acting fool
b) Finding uncharted ways to weasel my way into Morley’s chicken fights
c) Searching for the meaning of life by way of the local crackhead hitting pipe at 3am
d) All of the above
Tonight, I’m tucked up in bed, a shell of my former self — busy living. Zonal.
Check out the latest video to surface the Internet from Down Under’s classic label, Canterbury. The New Zealand brand, known for its preppy and sportswear-obsessed casualwear, sees a bold return to basics and is taking our shores by storm with their Spring / Summer ’12 collection — seamlessly binding the brand’s aesthetic to London’s urban environment.
Would’ve posted this tune yesterday but was busy on Yeezy watch. A nod to their London following, they projected the ‘Niggas In Paris’ video onto the walls of Shoreditch High Street Station.
Shit was cray, but this cray cray.
